With diversified and complimentary skills, the principals of Point Zero Pictures, Miklós Philips and Anna West have successfully worked together for over twenty years on a variety of film, television and multimedia productions around the world.

Miklós Philips

Miklos has worked in the “business” for over 30 years, and emerged as a Director eight years ago after a successful career as Director of Photography shooting narrative films and various video and television productions. During this time he developed his visual acumen and the craft of directing working in a variety of capacities including lighting, editing and visual effects.

He began his career in Hungary at 17, where he was apprenticed for several years to the late László Neumann, a contemporary of Vilmos Zsigmond and László Kovács, and one of the great Hungarian cinematographers of that time.

He won a Gold Remi Award for Original Comedy in 2004 for “Riding with Jack” at Huston WorldFest. His films have played at various film festivals such as the Boston Int’l Film Festival, Palm Beach Film Fest, Sonoma Film Festival, NewFilmMakers NY and the Salento Int’l Film Festival (Italy).

He has studied acting and directing in depth at workshops in Los Angeles with highly regarded teachers Judith Weston and Mark Travis, and with Andrew Utter and Marcia Kimmell in San Francisco.

Anna West

Anna began her film career as an actor in the Australian film industry. Learning about “the business” in the Art Department on the first two Mad Max films, she moved behind the camera to work as an Art Director on several independent productions, and then toward producing when she became general manager of a groundbreaking holography R&D facility and film studio in Sydney.

During a decade in New York City she worked as a Producer in corporate communications, music videos, a popular TV comedy series and as Production Designer/ Art Director on a variety of independent films. She also produced the Australian segment of a five part television series for NBC about indigenous people.

Since moving to California she continues to work as a New Media producer and as Producer and Production Designer on films for Point Zero Pictures.
